Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
86menus ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at 86menus.com and the application at app.86menus.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
What we collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
- Email address — used to create and identify your account (via AWS Cognito).
- Menu data — the content you enter into the editor (section names, items, prices, style settings). Stored in AWS DynamoDB.
- Billing information — handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID. We never see, store, or process your card number or billing address.
We do not collect usage analytics, cookies beyond session management, or any personal data beyond the above.
How we use your data
- To operate and improve the service.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts) — no marketing emails.
- To fulfil our contract with you (providing access to the menus you create).
Data storage and security
All data is stored in AWS infrastructure in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We follow industry-standard practices for access control and secret management.
Third-party services
- AWS Cognito — authentication. AWS Privacy Notice.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@86menus.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Contact us at hello@86menus.com with any requests.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
